About Me

Francesco Bellomo was born in Palermo, Italy, in 1997.
He started with piano lessons at the age of 6 and from the age of 12 he started his pre-studies in percussion instruments at the conservatory Vincenzo Bellini of Palermo. At the age of 18 he won a position to play with the Italian Youth Orchestra in which he started to do orchestral experience under the baton of several directors such as: Daniele Gatti, Andris Poga, John Axelrod and Giampaolo Pretto. During the same year Francesco started to take part in several Timpani Masterclass and private Timpani lessons with professor Nick Woud.
At the age of 20, after completing his studies and first Bachelor he decided to continue his education with professor Raymond Curfs at the Conservatorium Maastricht and after finishing his second Bachelor he successfully got a position as an academist at the Sinfonieorchester Aachen during which he deepened his orchestral experience.
During his year at the Sinfonieorchester Aachen Francesco decided to apply for a Master degree and to specialize in orchestral performance, and was successfully accepted at the Zürcher Hochschule der Kunste in the class of Klaus Schwärzler. He was also given the possibility to play with the Philharmonia Zürich during the 2023-2024 season through an intership.
